Sae birthday!Legend of the Shrimp Onmyoji (11.23.25)

Highly anticipated and only a bitttt late, here's my Sae bday recap! Fully sold out!! I actually initially came later than i thought so i was only able to attend the second session, the interior of the cafe had been transformed into a shrine that housed our resident shrimp onmyoji. There were tapestries and ribbons of all kinds in all the most auspicious colors, red plum blossoms could also be spotted around, which represent the five great blessings: longevity, prosperity, health, love of virtue, and a peaceful death (scary).

I especially liked the area by the portal where guests could leave their well wishes.

In full regalia was our onmyoji herself , in a beautiful blue and white dress with a very qi lolita flair, she looked so cute!! Vips were seated first and were greeted by sae herself with a UO kanpai, hearing the UOs crack and the cheers added a lot to the atmosphere as other guests were greeted in and seated by the our other very hard working maids. Everyone was excited to come in (i definitely saw some repeat faces from what little of first session i did catch) you could hear it in the how much people were already laughing and how widely they were smiling.

We officially started the night with a cinematic explaining the rules of this mystic world and then dove straight into the first performance, which was "百花繚乱 (Hyakkaryōran) " by OiranDochu ! It was a very energetic fan dance with the vibe of going into the battlefield of love, it set the vibe up for an exciting night ahead~

The lord of shrimp and her esteemed guests introduce themselves and talk about the banquet that have been prepared for us !!BUT suddenly!! AN OMINOUS THUNDERCLAP causes a stir in the cafe.... scary... but surely our journey will be safe with Lord Sae's blessing!!

Food was served shortly after, the special menu items tonight were:

Blessings of the Ocean Pasta , Purification Elixir, and Sealed Mango Pudding

In place of the usual moe moe kyun the entrees were blessed with ritual fire!!

This was also the time for everyone to come up and take their chekis with sae, i actually really like watching sae do her cheki sessions, even when her line is quite long she seems to never get any less energetic, i think you can really see how much every guest really means to her when she is able to have a little time one on one with them.

Then came the second performance was "桃源恋歌(Togen Renka)" by GARNiDELiA !There were a lot of cheers just from the first notes, it's a crowd fave for sure. This song is the next step in our journey, being in the throes of love and swept away by our passions~ Riri and Latte were great picks for this performance, i always appreciate when they get dance breaks, even when the choreo isnt necessarily super technical, as more technical dancers they always give it a certain flair. wonderful job!

Kanpai!! A toast to friendship but disaster strikes! SAE WAS POISINED BY RIRI!! Riri has long since wished to be a green creature and was tired of being denied her happiness and hatched an evil plot , getting rid of Sae to get what she wants! Riri is promptly arrested and Sae is sent to recuperate. Despite this turn of events, the party is not yet over, from here we take more chekis as we anxiously await our lords return... After a brief period of having dessert and waiting, the other messengers of the gods get together to purify Riri and rid her off the evil influence she was under, now shes ok! Also sae is ok! She has a famously steel stomach afterall, a bit of food poisoning is not enough to take her down. All celebrate! leading us into the final performance of the night "Kung Fu Miracle" by FES☆TIVE!

Energizing send off, the last performance had so many people on their feet to cheer and jump! A perfect conclusion to the night and our love story, perseverance and an indominable spirit that overcomes all obstacles! In the end, Riri was forgiven and maybe we can return to this realm again next year, the event closes out with everyone singing happy birthday plus a speech from sae (who cried a little).Then we were banished.

Overall, it was another amazing birthday. Having been to a good number by this point, it's just as fun and special every time. Each maid puts so much care and character into these events so it feels so novel and fresh each time! Sae in particular said that she wanted to go all out for this birthday, the previous year everyone was so busy (like this year ough) that she had no time to plan her own event, and she really delivered. Three performances, a small stage play throughout, and that amazing promo video are nothing to cough at. I think bossman really set a high bar with this one, right now this is the upper limit for ticketed birthday events (dinner events anyway, no concert/live). I think bossman is always trying to push that upper limit further and really see what we're all capable of pulling off, so much so that she's usually the one that had to be told no wwwww. I'm happy to have attended, im a sucker for seeing hard work pay off, and i hope every year gets more fun, cheers!
