Y'know, a loootttt of our masters and princesses love Halloween (our maids do as well) so we very recently held an event at our very lovely spooky home so we could all celebrate together! While I in particular did not work, I was able to haunt the grounds myself in my own way (っ´ཀ`)っ I come to you today texting from the great beyond, recounting the events of one very haunted night!
As an Asayoru maid (in training) I do get to peek a liiitle behind the curtain(i peek out from the curtain all the time actually), meaning i got to see the event prep and pre-event practice! As someone who doesnt perform, I'm always amazed when i get to really lock in and watch someone dancing and/or singing. i know a lot of effort goes into it, it's far from easy, even something others may think is relatively low stakes like a mid session performance is taken seriously and executed with quality and dedication. The maids on shift were super cute of course, costumes were generally very cute and some were quiiite funny♡𓃗 maid Milky was also in costume! she was (very cutely) a weremaid and graced the tops of the evening desserts. Speaking of....
I'm sure you've noticed it by now, but our menus for these kinds of things change in all kinds of ways. This time a couple of the entrees were from our seasonal fall menu (available through Nov.), the drinks were just for for this event (but we have magic lemonade regularly?), and our fairies whipped up a super yummy pumpkin cheesecake! A lot of thought goes into planning these ticketed events, and our menu in general really, I'm always very happy to see everyone enjoying our food and drinks✩₊˚.⋆🕸️⋆⁺₊✧
Watching both sessions was a lot of fun! Of course, we always need to lay down the law right at the beginning for the happiness and safety of everyone in the building, on such a night there was the promise of a horrible 7 generation curse upon those unruly and disobedient waaa!! Thankfully, maid Soul scared everyone into shape and the night went on without incident! I saw a lot of smiles and good times being had, a lot of people came in costume, no doubt vying for that toki coaster prize for best costume of the session. My favorite costumes of the night were 🐶🎤 and 🍌👑❤️, though i did see a lot of very interesting things that night. Ah, strangely enough.. im pretty sure i saw lemonade turning green!! it was a really scary,, i hope everyone that drank that didn't get turned into a toad or something... Besides that, the introduction of alcohol to our menu means a special concoction, a very ominous looking witch's brew that i saw on quite a few tables. Was it tasty, i wonder....

Opening with Phantom Siita really set the tone of the night, the performance was intense, heavy on dragging and pausing and filled with theatrics and facial expression. Dolly & Soul performing CandyCookieChocolate brought with them high energy fun, it was mischievous and gave very trick-or-treat vibes. I think having the two very different performances b2b hit both ends of the Halloween scale right away, creepy and a bit scary plus the silly and super fun aspects.
After those two mood setters, service commenced! Of course, much more laughter ,some screaming (Moe Moe BOO!) , and a loooooot of chekis were taken, then came our finale! Did you know, our maids love at-home cafe we've collaborated with them and will often , if given the opportunity, make the great pilgrimage to go home! (we have multiple homes) Many at-home originals will find their way into our setlists and this time it was the appropriately festive Maidmare Party, there's just something about at-home dances that really bring the shine out in who's performing them. Maybe im biased (i am biased) but the finale really stuck with me, i actually love very maidy things and any time i can get both maidy AND topical in one go, im over the moon! Shortly after, our maids in disguise had to see our restless guest out and the night came to an end. Overall, the event was lively and entertaining, everyone i saw left with smiles on their faces (as always, of course) and were ready to continue their Halloween activities into the next week! i hope to see this energy and enthusiasm continue to grow as the year concludes, Asayoru grows every day and we have so much in store for all of you, please continue to watch and support us<3
